Kukutana

What is Kukutana about?

We believe education must go beyond the classroom. It should empower children to embrace their unique identities, respect cultural diversity, and grow alongside their families as active members of society. Kukutana (“Kukutana” meaning connection or meeting), creates global spaces for children, families, and educators to learn, share, and grow. The initiative emphasizes the value of self-diversity, intercultural dialogue, and family-centered learning as a pathway to stronger communities. Kukutana Diversity Education Project, inspired by our partnership with the Kayakayo initiative in Germany, is designed to empower Ghanaian children and their parents through inclusive, family-centered learning experiences.

What Kukutana Does?

Empowers Children Through Self-Diversity
Children at the St. Germain School Complex and other YLF community groups participate in activities that build self-confidence, intercultural awareness, and respect for others, preparing them for life as responsible global citizens.

Equips Parents as Co-Learners
Parents engage in interactive workshops, counselling and reflection sessions, where they learn strategies to support their children’s growth, nurture diversity at home, and create stronger family bonds.

Creates Intercultural Bridges
Through virtual classrooms, art exchanges, and storytelling, Ghanaian children and parents connect with families, schools and community groups in Germany and the world at large. These exchanges foster mutual understanding, global friendships, and shared learning. An exposure that creates opportunities to address local challenges with workable global ideas.

Hosts Kukutana Community Dialogues
YLF organizes community forums where parents, teachers, and leaders come together to discuss challenges, share solutions, and celebrate diversity as a strength for community development.
